PlayHQ Partners with Cricket Scotland to Transform Domestic Cricket Operations

MELBOURNE, Australia – Jan. 13, 2026 – PlayHQ and Cricket Scotland have announced a new partnership that will transform how club and community cricket operates across Scotland.

The collaboration will see the existing player registration and live scoring data systems merge, streamlining domestic cricket operations with a unified competition and membership management platform.

The partnership comes as Scottish cricket experiences significant growth, with the national team’s strong international performances raising the sports profile and Scotland set to co-host the 2030 men’s T20 World Cup. PlayHQ’s platform will help Cricket Scotland and its clubs capitalise on this momentum, ultimately reducing the administrative burden, creating more time to focus on growing the sport, and making cricket more accessible for participants through simplified registrations, automated scheduling, integrated payments and real-time scoring.

Trudy Lindblade, Cricket Scotland Chief Executive, said

“We are delighted to announce this new partnership with PlayHQ which we expect will create massive benefits for the Scottish cricketing community. It has been clear for some time that having one all-encompassing system which captures registration, membership, player data and live scoring is extremely important for growth and development and improved communications within our game.
“PlayHQ’s track record working with cricket governing bodies and across multiple sports is hugely impressive, and we look forward to working with them over the next few months to introduce the new system and software to our members, Regional Associations and clubs across Scotland.”

The move addresses a common challenge facing volunteer-run sports clubs: managing fragmented systems and manual processes while trying to grow participation. The PlayHQ platform unifies registration, membership management and scoring in a single trusted system – eliminating the administrative headaches that currently stretch volunteer capacity.

Tim MacKinnon, PlayHQ Chief Executive Officer, said

“Scotland is one of the biggest cricketing forces in Europe with enormous opportunity to grow the sport across its diverse communities. We’re bringing a battle-tested platform with years of cricket experience in Australia and New Zealand to Scotland – streamlining operations so clubs can focus on what matters most: getting more people playing and keeping them engaged with the game they love.”

As part of the transition, Cricket Scotland has renewed and extended its partnership with FrogBox, so clubs continue to stream their matches and highlights, directly integrated into the PlayHQ platform.

PlayHQ and Cricket Scotland will work with all stakeholders across Scotland over the coming months, including clubs and the five regional associations, as part of a phased rollout to provide comprehensive training sessions and dedicated support. This process will ensure that clubs, administrators and members are confident and ready to use the new platform when the Scottish domestic cricket season begins in April 2026.

The partnership strengthens PlayHQ’s presence in the United Kingdom alongside Basketball England and reinforces the platform’s proven track record of serving over 11 million participants and 100,000 administrators globally across cricket, netball, AFL, hockey and basketball.
