One platform. One source of truth: Cricket Scotland's partnership with PlayHQ

Cricket Scotland is on a mission to grow the game and to show what cricket can do for people and communities. With around 130 clubs and more than 20,000 participants, the governing body needed a clear view of its data. But scoring and membership were split across multiple platforms, and none of them gave Cricket Scotland the information it needed.

Cricket Scotland went looking for one solution that could do everything in one place. PlayHQ’s track record gave it confidence. Cricket Australia and Cricket New Zealand both run on PlayHQ, and their referrals on quality of delivery and service carried real weight. PlayHQ also committed to solving challenges specific to Scottish cricket, including new formulas for the many matches affected by weather.

With all of its data in one place, Cricket Scotland can work more efficiently, be more effective and make better decisions. It now has a single source of truth. When it reports to its board, members, government or the ICC, it knows the information is credible and accurate. That data helps it secure what it needs to grow.

Changing platforms is hard for any organisation, especially an amateur sport run by volunteers. Cricket Scotland and PlayHQ rolled out together, running training sessions from the top of Scotland to the bottom. For a small team with limited resources, having PlayHQ staff on the ground in Europe means real-time support, despite the distance from Australia. With a stronger foundation in place, Cricket Scotland can keep performing on the world stage while growing participation in the 5 to 8 and 8 to 15 age groups.

"We work together in partnership, putting all of our data in the one place that enables us to have efficiencies, to be more effective, and to make better decisions."
