The volleyball season shouldn't live in a spreadsheet.

We're PlayHQ, the unified community sport management platform for governing bodies. Registration, competition, payments and game day run on one system, connected by one participant record. Volleyball is already built.

Volleyball is already built. That changes what getting started looks like.

The assumption we hear most often from volleyball administrators is that a platform like ours is built for the biggest sports and everyone else gets a workaround. That isn't how we've built it.Volleyball is one of our established sport builds. The scoring engine, competition structures and playing formats already exist. That means implementation is measured against a working configuration rather than a development project, so time-to-value drops and so does the risk of getting started. It also means we're not learning volleyball on your season.

What "already built" actually means
  • Volleyball scoring engine live in the platform
  • Court and venue session setup for multi-game days
  • Sport-branded participant app, iOS and Android
  • Configurable playing parameters for new formats and programmes
  • Terminology configured to your market: standings, ladders or tables

Four workflows. Four systems. One very long season.

Every season starts the same way. Registrations open and the inbox fills for a week. The draw gets built in a spreadsheet, then re-entered somewhere else. Clubs send through team numbers that change twice before round one. Scores arrive on Sunday night to be typed up by hand. Fees get chased, reconciled and transferred manually, every season, in every association, by people fitting it around a full-time job.

Three systems means three sources of truth. Which one are you reporting to government?

So we built them as one.

Registrations they finish on their phone

Publish registration forms at every level of the hierarchy, carry participant records across seasons and collect fees at sign-up. The player who registers is the same player in the draw and in your participation numbers.

A draw that builds itself

Create competition structures, grades and divisions, fixtures and finals across a full season. Venue management, clash management, transfers, permits, suspensions and grading are all handled in the platform rather than in a spreadsheet and a group chat.

Money that moves where it's meant to

Collect registration fees, memberships, game-day fees and merchandise payments, then distribute funds automatically through the organisational hierarchy. Instalments, refunds and reconciliation are included, with Xero integration for accounting.

Scores live before anyone leaves the venue

Volunteer scorers enter results in real time from a device at the venue. Results, standings and statistics publish straight to your sport-branded mobile app and participant portal. No more Sunday night data entry.

A player registers, and they're in the draw. Their fees distribute themselves. Their score goes live on Saturday afternoon. Nobody opened a spreadsheet.

Across 15,000 clubs and 1,200 associations, for partners from around 20,000 registered participants upwards.

The questions we usually get asked first.

We're not that big. Are we the right size for this?

Our platform works for governing bodies from around 20,000 registered participants upwards, and the largest partner we run today sits at about 650,000. If you're below that starting point we can scope out suitability during a discovery call.

We already have systems that work.

Plenty of the governing bodies we work with said the same before they moved. The useful question is whether today's setup will still work in five years, as participant expectations rise and reporting requirements tighten, and whether you'd rather choose the moment you change or have it chosen for you mid-season.

We're considering building something ourselves.

It's a fair consideration, and AI has reduced some development cost. What it hasn't touched is the domain knowledge underneath a production system. We've run competitions across cricket, basketball, netball, volleyball, field hockey and rugby union in six countries, and every sport has taught us something the last one didn't. That knowledge is in the platform because we've been through the seasons that produced it.

We're only really looking at registration right now.

That's a reasonable starting point, and it's where several partners begin. Registration and participation analytics on their own will give you cleaner data than you have today. Competition management is there when you want it.

How does it work across our hierarchy?

Configuration set at the governing body level flows down through associations, leagues and clubs. Rules you set at the top enforce themselves at the bottom, without chasing.

What does it cost?

Our pricing is per registered participant, plus transaction fees. The number depends on your participant base and which parts of the platform you use, and we'll give it to you in the first conversation rather than the fourth.

Start with a conversation about your season.

Twenty minutes with someone who understands how volleyball competitions are actually run. We'll ask how your season works today, where it breaks, and what you're being asked to report. If we're not the right fit for you, we'll say so.
